Blogging about sex and porn

Just randomly checking my stats page today, i didn’t really expect much, at all…You know? I’ve only had this blog about for 4 days - how would people know about my blog to visit it anyway? Sure I’d love for my blog to become an instant hit and for thousands of people to subscribe, etc, etc.. but that’s not gonna happen. Especially since i have $0 budget for advertising. In fact i don’t even intend for this site to attract any number of visitors for a few months, at least, whilst I am busy adding plugins and things like that, writing some of my “Travel Guide” and getting back into routine at school after 2 months break…

But guess what.

I’ve recently started getting a few “referred” visits. IE: visits from a link on a different website/blog. And let’s guess what the most popular referrer is? Google? Yahoo!? Nope. The most popular referrer is…

http://www.blogcatalog.com/post-tag/sex

That means the most likely thing people coming to my site are looking for is sex or porn.

Why is this? Well I’m not sure, but i think it might have something to do with people being horny little bastards. Now if i could get a dollar for every person who comes to this article because it contains the words “sex” and “porn”…

Review: No Country For Old Men

Monday afternoon, and my family decided to go see a movie. “No Country For Old Men” they said it was called. I had never heard of it. We drive to the cinema, buy some tickets, and I go sit down with my “Jumbo” Drink (about a medium at McDonalds) and some Maltesers. Put my mobile on silent (what type of sucker turns it off?) and I wait for the film to start.

Now, i hadn’t heard of it before, so at the start i wasn’t expecting much. In fact I didn’t know what to expect. But then my dad started saying how he’s heard so much about it, and how he thinks it’ll be really, really good and we’ll all enjoy it. Now I’m starting to think it’ll be worse than having a horse fart in a bag and then sticking your head in it. My Dad’s choice in movies.. isn’t the best. He said he’d heard that Rescue Dawn got 2/10 in some review, so that proved it was not worth seeing. I liked rescue Dawn; I’d had given it at least 8/10 (It’s IMDB article gives it an average of 7.7/10)

So, as I sat down in the semi-full cinema, I wasn’t exactly ecstatic about seeing a movie recommended by my dad. But, luckily for me, No Country For Old Men turned out to be far better than expected.

The performances of Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin are particularly outstanding efforts. I was very annoyed both that Josh’s Character (Llewelyn) died, and that Javier’s Character (Anton) didn’t die. A film that can make me emotional about something, is an outstanding film. The acting of all characters, was exemplary and outstanding. The ending, though was a little confusing, and leads one to assume that perhaps there’ll be a sequel?

Personally I’m just hoping there will be a sequel, just to see Anton die. Seriously, I’d like to see him dead. Whilst I watched him throughout the movie (i wont spoil the story for any of you), i could feel myself suddenly getting an urge to hit him in the face. I’m sure Javier Bardem is a positively lovely guy, “Anton Chigurh” on the other hand is a positively insane bastard.

Anyway, to round up. This movie, although I’d heard nothing of it, turned out to be really enjoyable.

8/10

School goes back tomorrow…

Since i live in Australia, it’s now 2:40 AM on Tuesday the 29th…School goes back tomorrow :( As you can probably tell, i’m not super excited about that fact. But then again, it’s not too bad, to be honest. I’m actually really looking forward to starting my new subjects, especially Ancient History and English Extension. When I do English Extension 2 in year 12, I’ll also get to make a video, novel, short stor[ies], or something else that i forget. That’s exciting, especially since I’d like to be a journalist/writer/photographer/traveler/jack-of-all-trades.

For this year (Year 11) I chose to do:

  • English Advanced (2 Units)
  • English Extension 1 (1 Unit)
  • Maths Advanced (2 Units)
  • Maths Extension 1 (1 Unit)
  • Ancient History (2 Units)
  • Physics (2 Units)
  • Visual Arts (2 Units)
  • Computers (2 Units)

That’s a lot of units though, so i intend to drop one of the extensions, and i also might change from Physics to something else.

AirAsiaX Plans to set up shop in Victoria, Australia

AirAsiaX chief executive Asran Osman-Rani was in Australia over the long weekend for talks with Victorian airport officials and to check out Newcastle airport in New South Wales. The long-haul offshoot of successful low-cost carrier AirAsia plans to start flying to Victoria about October after the first of up to 25 new Airbus A330-300 aircraft is delivered.

The airline is currently flying to the Gold Coast using a leased aircraft and offers fares to Kuala Lumpur as low as $199 one-way.

Australia - Kuala Lumpur for $200 sounds mighty good to me. Hopefully with the increase of low-cost airlines, especially here in Australia, it will help get more people out of the house, off the beaten track, and onto an Adventure!
