New Wordpress Theme (Modification)

I made a massive modification to my old theme…so now I’ve pretty much got a new theme for my blog. It’s a dark grey/red color scheme, and I’ve added a top-bar thingo for my up-coming sites. Pretty much just a navigation bar for my “network”.

On a related note; If anyone has any ideas for a blog subject/niche, or if someone would like me to host their blog, then feel free to contact me. I’m looking for people to post on some new blog ideas i have, so don’t hesitate. Of course all revenue will be split.

Blog of the Week: Sixintheworld.com

Massive Increase In Visitors

Hrmmm somehow my Unique Visitors went from 17 (yesterday) to 43 (today). That’s a massive jump - and that’s only so far. There’s still over an hour and a half left of today. I’m aiming for 50 by the end of the night! Maybe this is a good time to set some realistic goals.

I suppose this might just be a one-off, so tomorrow the number might be back down around 20 or so…But that’s okay. So i can’t expect to be up to 50 again tomorrow, so i’ll try to be realistic. Here are my goals:

  • 25 Uniques/Day within 2 weeks
  • 50 Uniques/Day within 2 months
  • 100+ Uniques/Day within 6 months

Now, that’s not unreasonable. I think that’s achievable as well. Good luck to me!

Best Travel Forums/Communities

When planning a trip/journey/adventure/rtw, travel forums/bulletin boards/communities are an indispensable resource. You can ask a community of hundreds of knowledgeable travelers about your thoughts, worries, or inquiries, or even just read about other people’s questions and problems, and learn something on the way. Here are some of the best I’ve found (will be updated):

If anyone knows of any other quality travel/backpacking related forums/bulletin boards, then please leave a comment!

Video Of The Day: A Year In The Life (Asia)

[youtube TNm27nWNY9c nolink]

This guy is one of the first RTW bloggers i read. I don’t think it was really a blog - I think he typed up his journal when he got home and put it on the web. Anyway, he traveled around the world, starting in Japan (leaving from England) in 2004, i think, and this is his first video; of his Asian journey. I won’t spoil the story for those who want to read it, so here’s the link;

Video Of The Day: Skateboarding In India

I found this video on lonelyplanet.tv and it’s really awesome. It makes me want to go to India, even though there’s not many sights or interesting things in this video…just some guy skating around. But it still wets my appetite for travel…e

Earn Money From Searching The Web!

I found this site two days ago, it’s called My Search Funds, and they will pay you to search! I know that probably sounds like a scam, but it isn’t. Basically, they earn money for every search you make, and then they give you 50% of what they make. That means, on average, if you make an estimated 200 searches a day, you would earn £150 a month. That’s $292 (US$) approx. That’s a lot of money for doing what you already do - search the internet! So what are you waiting for? Sign up now!

I should mention that they only pay you via paypal (so you’ll need a paypal account) and they only pay you 45 days after the end of the month. So, for example, I’ll get paid for this month (february) in mid-april. Also, the search results usually are a little worse than google, but what i wanted always appears somewhere on the first page..

Video Of The Day: Setsubun (Japan)

Setsubun is a Japanese seasonal festival/holiday that celebrates the start of spring. It is celebrated on either the 3rd of 4th of February, which is 1 day before the start of Spring according to the Japanese Lunar Calendar. Basically like a mish-mash of Halloween, new years and “groundhog day” (silly Americans..). Pretty interesting to hear about it!
