Who Wants To Buy Me This..?

This is the SONY HDRSR12. It is awesome. 1920 x 1080 resolution recording for 880 minutes to the 120Gb HDD. This will be particularly useful for my travels because i wont need to upload all the data to my computer every day (I doubt I’ll be recording 880 minutes every day), so i’ll have more free time. 880 minutes = 14.667 hours which is plenty. That should be at least a week of recording time (I hope), so once a week I’ll sit down in the evening, transfer all the video & still photos I’ve taken during the week and edit up a video podcast or something. Once video podcast a week should be good. About 10-20 minutes per podcast. Although I’ll only upload podcasts in SD to save upload time. When I finish the trip I’ll edit up the footage into a documentary-type series thing, though, mainly for myself to look back on all the experiences, etc.

Anyway, back to the HDRSR12. It is awesome. Apart from the 1920×1080i recording, it also can record still photos simultaneously, has 5.1 stereo input, touchscreen LCD, face detection, microphone and headphone jacks, manual settings and more. It kicks ass. It’s also only $1640 at the cheapest place I’ve found (+ shipping) which is pretty darn cheap for an awesome HD Video Camera. Now if I can just get Final Cut Pro and this awesome camera, I’ll be all set for my video-making needs…

K2? K2? We Have Lift Off!

It was the wee hours of the morning, and I had yet to drop off to sleep. It was nigh-on five in the morning and I was still up and functioning. Editing my blog to be precise. You see, the thing is, I found this really nifty new theme called K2. It’s the spiritual successor to wordpress’ default theme, Kubric, and it’s awesome.

As you can no doubt see, my blog now looks clean and fresh, and I can’t wait to break it in with a few well-written, engaging posts by yours truly. You’ll notice there is now a live search feature, where you can start typing into the search box and the posts being displayed automatically change depending on your criteria.

I’ve also managed to integrate both my flickr and twitter accounts, so you can grab the latest updates and latest photos from myself, and peruse them at your pleasure. This means when I eventually get out on the road, you’ll be able to take a quick geez at my latest tweet and latest photos to see the very latest things I’ve been up to.

Right now I’m just perfect different plugins and things like that, and updating the pages of my site to make them more thorough and interesting. Coming up on my list of things to do now, is making some maps of my intended itinerary…
