So I did eventually get my iPhone last Friday, over the last few days I’ve played around with it (a lot) and it is really great piece kit. I love having my mobile and email and music all in one device, along with the extra benifit of a camera, calculator, Internet browser, rss feeds, games and more (3rd party apps, baby!) and it’s all zoo convenient aswell.
And to make my life even easier, a new “Wordpress” application was released just today, letting me conveniently blog from wherever I am in the world. Mobile blogging anyone?
Anyway, Ill try to update more often when I have free time and stuff. I just don’t want this to turn into a blow-by-by “this is what I did today” blog…
Up until now, all of my Blog-of-the-week posts have been varyingly independent. Someone going on their private little RTW trip or walking across Europe. These blogs are awesome, and generally they’re my favorite type of travel blog, but today I’m going for something a little bit different. BraveNewTraveler has it’s fair share of on-the-road travel posts, but also focuses a little more on things like feature articles. Most of their articles are either fun, interesting or inspiring (or a mixture of all three) so they’re well worth a look!

On May 31st, 2003, Paul and Helen Webster set out on an immense journey - walk from Spain, to Turkey. As you may have guessed, their journey was actually undertaken in 2003-2004, but Paul has just started blogging about it. So far he’s up to day 14, and has plenty more to go!

I made a massive modification to my old theme…so now I’ve pretty much got a new theme for my blog. It’s a dark grey/red color scheme, and I’ve added a top-bar thingo for my up-coming sites. Pretty much just a navigation bar for my “network”.
On a related note; If anyone has any ideas for a blog subject/niche, or if someone would like me to host their blog, then feel free to contact me. I’m looking for people to post on some new blog ideas i have, so don’t hesitate. Of course all revenue will be split.
That’s my new goal. To make enough profit from my blog, websites, and future blogs/websites, to fund my RTW (Round The World) Trip. As a rough estimate, that means i need to raise approximately $25,000-$30,000 over the next two years. I’ll document all my money-making ventures here on this blog, aswell as listing monthly incomes, etc (expect these to be pretty small to start off with…haha).
So if anyone has any idea[s] for a website, or blog, etc. then please reply in the comments and I’ll see what i cant do!
I installed an awesome new skin on my blog. It’s activated now and it features two widget sidebars, which is good! So if anyone actually reads this, please feel free to comment on the new skin in the comments!
I thought I’d take this opportunity, late at night on the eve before I go back to school to start year 11, to outline a few goals, first for this blog, then for my travel, and then for myself.
Goals For This Blog:
- Officially “launch” this blog by the end of April 2008. I realise the blog is currently online, and public, but so far I have not been actively advertising it or anything.
- Make enough money through advertisements and other avenues on this blog, to pay for the web hosting and domain name by the year’s end.
Goals For Travel:
- Have a 50% rough plan by the year’s end.
- Have saved atleast $5000 by the year’s end.
- Have saved atleast $20,000 by the end of 2009.
- (Maybe) Purchase a HD Video camera by the end of 2009.
- Chronicle my journey in a documentary style film.
More:
- Finish Year 12 (HSC).
- Get accepted to University of my choice (As yet undecided).
- Have fun!
Just randomly checking my stats page today, i didn’t really expect much, at all…You know? I’ve only had this blog about for 4 days - how would people know about my blog to visit it anyway? Sure I’d love for my blog to become an instant hit and for thousands of people to subscribe, etc, etc.. but that’s not gonna happen. Especially since i have $0 budget for advertising. In fact i don’t even intend for this site to attract any number of visitors for a few months, at least, whilst I am busy adding plugins and things like that, writing some of my “Travel Guide” and getting back into routine at school after 2 months break…

I’ve recently started getting a few “referred” visits. IE: visits from a link on a different website/blog. And let’s guess what the most popular referrer is? Google? Yahoo!? Nope. The most popular referrer is…

That means the most likely thing people coming to my site are looking for is sex or porn.
Why is this? Well I’m not sure, but i think it might have something to do with people being horny little bastards. Now if i could get a dollar for every person who comes to this article because it contains the words “sex” and “porn”…
