Travel Guide: Why Travel?

As part of my Travel Guide series of articles, here is the first part of part one - introduction, why travel?

Introduction

Okay, so you’re reading this. I’m going to assume you have at least some vague interest in travel, reading about travel, or seeing the world. But what makes us interested in these things? What makes is want to see the world? To experience different cultures and meet new exciting people? The answer is different for all of us, but for me, it’s because it’s fun. It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s interesting, it’s an experience. It’s not about the bragging rights of saying “Oh, I’ve been to x many countries”, it’s about the experience itself. The people you meet, the things you experience and see, are all what makes traveling worth while. Whilst sometimes those experiences and people can make traveling a boring old holiday, or an uneventful two weeks on the beach, they can also make it an adventure. Something that you’ll never forget and you’ll be telling your grandkids all about it when you’re 60 (in between spending your retirement to go and travel the world some more).

More after the break…

Why Travel?

Lot’s of people don’t see a reason to travel. Lot’s of people see travel as a hassle, or something that they can’t fit into their careers or their day-to-day lives. Some people think that if they spend their time traveling and enjoying themselves, instead of slaving away 9-to-5 at a dead-end job to climb the corporate ladder, that they wont be able to survive. Their career will be gone, they won’t have enough money, they won’t be able to settle down…

Now, whilst some of these things are true, there’s also always a positive side (that far outweighs any negatives). For example, what if you could make money whilst traveling or experiencing another culture? What if you and your loved one could travel together, and you wouldn’t have to for-go that relationship? What if your experiences traveling could have a positive effect on your career? What if it was just fun? You should be more worried about having fun in your lifetime, and experiencing things, rather than working all day and night to pay the bills at home.

Maybe you’re not too worried about your career (perhaps you haven’t even started along the career path yet) but you don’t think you can afford to travel? You’re wrong! The following articles will tell you how to cut out all expenses, save your money, make a bit extra, or even make money on the road! And if you’re still not convinced after reading all of the articles on this website, well then i think the best way to convince yourself is just to go for it and the experience should speak for itself!
